Quasquicentennial Updates and Quick Links...

The Halbur community will celebrate it's 125th birthday on July 11th & 12th, 2008. We are working hard on plans to welcome family, friends, neighbors and former residents home for a wonderful celebration. The accomplishments of our community should make all residents proud. Proceeds from the Quasquicentennial will be used to benefit the community. There is much to celebrate and we hope that you will be eager to get involved!

There are several committees already hard at work on the event. There will be a need for other committees as the event gets closer. Please get involved in the preparation for this special event. We look forward to involving everyone in the celebration. If you would like to volunteer your time or talents to help make our 125^th celebration one to remember, we invite you to contact us.

The Quasquicentennial celebration will be held Friday and Saturday. Friday evening will be an evening to reconnect with friends and family. Everyone is invited. HU, our fictitious Halbur University, will sponsor comedian Toby Kid for a 7:30 show. We will have food and refreshments available as you reminisce with family and friends.

Tentative plans for Saturday include a parade beginning at noon, kids' activities, entertainment, music, fireworks and a beer garden.

A contest was held to choose a slogan for the Quasquicentennial. Lora Snyder's entry, “The Past, Present and Future are Ours” was chosen from the entries. Mary (Eich) Hickethier, a former resident and graphic artist in Wisconsin designed the logo for our birthday celebration.

This is a birthday party for everyone! Suggestions or ideas are welcomed to help make this a memorable occasion. We hope you will volunteer and be part of this great community celebration that’s been 125 years in the making!!
