The Halbur Community Development Corporation is a non-profit corporation, having been established in August, 1997. Our mission statement is to "strive to make the Halbur Community open and attractive to new businesses and new residents alike". The HCDC is funded through annual membership dues of $25.00, proceeds from fundraisers and other donations, and funds annually budgeted by the City of Halbur. Through the years the HCDC has initiated the establishment of a Memorial Park west of the Community Center; had a building in disrepair in the downtown area removed and the site landscaped; make improvements to the ball diamond, park and tennis court; purchased picnic tables for the shelter house area; and purchased tables, chairs and other items needed in the Community Center. This group has also established a welcome committee that presents to new homeowners in Halbur general information about the Town, including a Resident's Guide and Business Directory, as well as a packet of items donated by local businesses. HCDC has a nine member Board of Directors and meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 PM at the Halbur Community Center. These meetings are open and participation is encouraged so that the needs of the community can be met. Board members currently serving are:
